Physical, occupational and speech therapies are important and vital
components of an individual's recovery and well-being. While often
these disciplines work in conjunction with one another to help a
person regain functioning on a variety of capability levels, sometimes
just one or two of these disciplines are required. An evaluation
will determine the specific needs of each patient so that an individual
treatment program can be developed.
Physical Therapy Physical therapy is appropriate for a wide range of patients and is a form of healthcare devoted to treating, healing and preventing injuries and disabilities. The basic goals of physical therapy are to relieve pain and discomfort, regain movement, restore function, and help people adapt to any permanent physical changes. Common treatments include therapeutic exercise, transfer and gait training, ultrasound, hot/cold pack, pain management, body mechanics and muscle retraining.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is the use of purposeful activity to aid people
who are limited by physical injury, illness and/or psycho-social
dysfunction. Occupational therapists specialize in helping a patient
relearn the necessary skills to perform daily life tasks such as
dressing, feeding, grooming, bathing, and toileting. Therapy concentrates
on a range of motor activities and other treatments which increase
strength, balance, endurance, coordination, and visual perception.

an important role in helping children with delayed language skills
or articulation difficulties to overcome their own personal challenges.
