Buena Vida serves a diverse geographical area with many distinct
neighborhoods and needs, across the New York metropolitan area.
Our organization is dedicated to effectively utilizing available
resources to provide access to quality healthcare to all of our
residents. Recreation and Volunteers works closely with our diverse communities
throughout the metropolitan region to address specific concerns
and needs of our residents, staff and the local community.
Our strength is in our reputation, we work collaboratively with
community-based organizations, community boards, elected officials,
faith-based organizations, community physicians, schools, universities
and local residents to help deliver vital healthcare resources and
bring to the forefront health and community issues.
Recreation and Volunteers at Buena Vida seeks to create, implement or support
community programs, which brings together local advocates, leaders,
and agencies for the promotion of ideas, and programs, which empower
the people we serve. We are committed to a wide range of initiatives
such as advocacy for the aging, healthcare, education, prevention,
and neighborhood development.
To achieve our Mission the Department

Developing and maintaining effective partnerships to help deliver
vital healthcare resources and bring to the forefront health and
community issues. Take into account the views and comments of all
groups who seeks to create, implement or support community programs,
which brings together local advocates, leaders, and agencies for
the promotion of ideas, and programs, which empower the people we
serve.
Corporate Guidelines
Buena Vida has an active Recreation and Volunteers department
designed to support the achievement of company goals. The Department’s
programs and initiatives are focused to instill organizational pride,
build public trust, foster education, respond to community needs
and enhance company image. The Department supports qualified organizations
and community initiatives whose purpose is neither political nor
religious in nature. We welcome requests from qualified organizations
that bring to the forefront health and community issues and who
empower the people we serve.
Organizational support is based on our corporate values: respect
for the individual, uncompromising integrity, trust, credibility,
continuous improvement, recognition and celebration. The Department
of Recreation and Volunteers work as two units dedicated
to achieving its Mission. The two units are: Office of Recreation and the Office of Volunteer Services. The chief objective
of the Office of Recreation and Volunteers is to instill organizational
pride, build public trust, foster education, respond to community
needs and enhance company image. Thus, the Office of Volunteers
helps to assist in corporate objectives implemented by the Office
of Recreation and Volunteers.
Eligibility for Collaboration
We are committed to a wide range of initiatives such as advocacy
for the aging, healthcare, education, prevention, and community
revitalization.
How to Apply
Buena Vida does not have a formal application to collaborate form.
All interested participants are required to submit a proposal for
collaboration. Proposals must be typed and not exceed five single-spaced
typed and numbered pages. (Do not use binders.) Provide the following
information in this order: Proposal summary (a 1-or-2 page description)
which states your project, the mission of your organization/project,
the history of your organization/project and an explanation of why
would you like to collaborate with Buena Vida. Criteria for evaluation
and approval will be based on: Project description, Audience served,
Goals, objectives, and action plan, Expected quantifiable outcomes
or results, method of evaluation of proposed outcomes and other
sources of support for the project will be assessed.
Timeline
Buena Vida accepts requests between January 1 and November 30.
Buena Vida attempts to review all proposals within 45 days after
receipt, at which time Buena Vida either immediately declines the
proposal, or sends notification that the proposal will be further
evaluated.
