Continuing Care at Buena Vida is provided in a supportive,
clinically supervised environment designed for the care of the
frail elderly or disabled adult requiring a level of health care
services that cannot be provided at home.
Buena Vida is staffed by highly skilled medical, nursing, and
rehabilitation professionals committed to the health and welfare
of the residents.
Buena
Vida offers extended care, including cardiac care (coronary disease,
congestive heard failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease),
rehabilitation, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, respiratory
& tracheostomy care. We also provide renal and diabetes management
program and contract with local dialysis centers.
A specialized unit is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of
those residents with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementia. Staff
on this unit are formally trained and committed to the care of
these residents. Recreational and clinical programming reflects
contemporary approaches to care and treatment.
Care for the terminally ill residents is provided in collaboration
with Metropolitan Hospice of Greater New York, a nationally recognized
Hospice Association. This program is sensitive the special needs
of those at the end of life and their family including palliative
care, and bereavement counseling.
